HUB24 has developed an online portfolio administration system, designed to address the portfolio management needs of financial planners, superannuation administrators and fund managers.

The system has been built to provide the necessary functionality to manage and operate a Managed Discretionary Account ("MDA"), whether in the form of a Separately Managed Account ("SMA") or an Individually Managed Account ("IMA"). It can also be easily adapted to operate a more traditional wrap platform or any collection of investments structured along similar lines, regardless of its tax structure.

This system, along with our support services, will add value to your business by:

- Improving your decision making capabilities. HUB24's system gives you access to up to date and accurate information about your clients' portfolios at any time, in many cases on a real-time basis. Its portfolio monitoring and reporting functions then allow you to extract and analyse the information that you need and support your efforts for optimal decision making.

- Portfolio Management by Professionals. HUB24 offers the choice of ready-made non-unitised investment portfolios (composed and managed by well-known and respected professional fund managers) that you can recommend to your clients. This allows you to offer your clients a collection of investments specifically tailored to their needs and preferences, while at the same time still enjoying the advantages associated with the professional management of investments.

- Reduced Costs. HUB24's efficient use of current technology gives us the ability to offer you professional portfolio management services at a cost that compares favourably to that of the more traditional managed funds. Your clients will benefit directly from these cost reductions. Our system will also reduce your own operating costs by reducing the administrative burden placed on your staff, particular by the automation and simplification of many administration tasks, and by lessening the need of manual data entry whenever possible.

- Beneficial Ownership with the client. Unlike traditional managed investments, the beneficial ownership of the securities underlying the investment portfolios remains with the client. HUB24 will maintain a register of securities for each account and will keep track of the effects of investors' and corporate actions on each client's securities holding. This will enhance your ability to make recommendations based on the specific circumstances of your client and will avoid the disadvantages associated with the pooling of funds.

 

- Tax Management The fact that beneficial ownership of the underlying securities is with the client also improves your ability to carry out tax management for your clients. The opportunities this presents include:

   a) The ability to conduct in-specie transfers (into and out of a client's account) without triggering taxation liabilities.

   b) The ability to select the most advantageous security parcels, from the perspective of capital gains tax liabilities, when disposing of securities.

   c) The possibility of taking into account the taxation circumstances of investments outside the HUB24 account when making decisions or recommendations related to the account.

   d) The ability to take into account specific tax objectives of a client when making decisions related to the purchase or disposal of securities, without affecting any other client.

   e) The possibility to conduct what-if analysis and assess the taxation impact of implementing a set of recommendations or proposed actions.

- Use your own brand. HUB24 will allow you to use your own brands, names and logos in the presentation of reports to your clients, providing this use does not breach any intellectual property rights of HUB24 and/or any of its suppliers. This will enhance your image with your own clients and will strengthen your market presence.

- Security. HUB24 uses robust and proven data security mechanisms to ensure yours and your clients' data is protected at all times. The system has been designed to ensure you have control over who can see and/or modify your clients' data and under what circumstances access to it is granted. Consistent with this, we also aim to ensure your clients' holdings are protected from theft, fraud and error by engaging professional sub-Custodians subject to all the licensing requirements of ASIC, to hold your clients' securities in trust. We will manage and monitor these sub-Custodians and keep an independent register of securities to ensure the safety of your clients' monies and the accuracy of the sub-Custodians' records.

- Transparency. You and your clients have access to portfolio reports that allows continuous monitoring of any portfolio, including any transactions that take place within the portfolio. This provides a level of transparency that is not available in traditional managed funds and investment platforms, and adds an extra layer of security since you and your clients can review their portfolios at any time.
