HUB24 Limited is pleased to advise the appointment of Ruth Stringer as a Non-Executive Director of the Company, effective 1 February 2020.

Ruth is an experienced financial services lawyer with particular expertise in funds management, superannuation, life insurance and financial planning. Her diverse career has included working in significant national and international law firms, as well as serving as in-house counsel with various financial institutions and more recently, working with the Australian Securities and Investments Commission. Previously a member of the leadership team at wealth management company MLC, Ruth is now engaged as a Consultant to Herbert Smith Freehills.

Ruth has a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Laws from the University of Sydney. She has served on a number of boards and committees during her career including the Board of Taxation’s Advisory Panel and the Steering Committee of the International Pension and Employee Benefit Lawyers Association.

Ruth is passionate about improving the superannuation system, in particular by pursuing law reform to better support the provision of income in retirement. Her work in this field was recognised with her appointment to the CIPR (Comprehensive Income Products for Retirement) Framework Advisory Group formed to advise Treasury on aspects of the legislative framework for these new retirement income products.

Ruth will initially also serve as a member of HUB24’s Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee.

Bruce Higgins, Chairman of HUB24 in commenting on the appointment said “Ruth Stringer’s appointment as Non-Executive Director strengthens the Board’s skills in legal, risk and compliance in addition to overall financial services experience where Ruth has a strong track record through her highly successful career as a senior executive and well respected financial services lawyer. Ruth’s appointment as our first female director is an important part of our strategy to increase diversity within our business. I look forward to Ruth’s contribution as a director of HUB24 Limited.”
